Bolero Bomber

I love this little jacket. It lifts a casual look instantly and feels really chic. The way clothing makes you feel is key, don’t you think? So far I have worn it with black trousers, jeans and a black pencil skirt – so it’s really versatile.

Zebra & Jade

I love wearing animal prints, especially zebra because black and white is so chic. In a dress as bold as this, one doesn’t need much jewelry – in fact, I kept it simple with just a jade bracelet from Burma (bought in Chiang Mai- Northern Thailand). It is so bright and clear I felt that adding anything else would detract from its prettiness. Hope you like my ‘celeb-paparazzi pose at the end – I was having fun 🙂

Casual & Chic

Although I clearly love my dresses and glamming up, I also love to dress down. Looking casual and chic on holiday is key. Comfort is important, but remember, those holiday snaps will live on forever! I bought these plastic flip-flops because it was raining and I didn’t want my suede Zara flats getting ruined. They are surprisingly comfortable!

Currently Craving

One of the biggest highlights of going on holiday, is hitting the newsstand at the airport and stocking up on glossy magazines to read poolside/on the plane/in the car/in the bath. This leads into my latest ‘currently craving’ post, as irresistible items fill my dreams.

A Classic Strapless

In the village of Pai (Northern Thailand) there is so much inspiration for interesting photo’s and the perfect holiday dress (If you look carefully behind the swing, you can see a huddle of Guinea Fowls pecking for worms!)

A classic strapless dress is a staple for any wardrobe. I love that they can be easily dressed up by simply adding a jacket and heels, or kept simple with flats for an easy, comfortable holiday look. Add some bold earrings for extra ka-pow!

Polka Dot Wrap-Around

We recently stayed at the most gorgeous, charming little village named ‘Pai’ (Northern Thailand) Everything about it is sweet, small and terribly cute. Flowers, coffee shops, checkered table cloths, Nutella pancakes, second-hand book swap shops, vintage Vespa’s…. This gorgeous turquoise doorway lead to our tree house by the river.

White Delight

My husband and I are on holiday in Chiang Rai (Northern Thailand) which is beautiful and lush with an incredible mountainous back-drop. We are staying at the lovely riverside LeMeridian Hotel & Spa, the perfect backdrop for a white dress.

Heart Beats

My friend from South Africa asked me to get her the same Marc Jacobs IPad case as previously posted here. While I was celebrating the power of my blog for leading to a direct sale (well, asking my husband to get one and posting it is as direct as it gets when dealing with South Africa) Anyway, turns out the pink IPad cover was a favourite, and after searching three separate outlets, fashion osmosis kicked-in and my husband bought me a Marc Jacobs bangle. which I adore.

Heartbeats Bangle – Marc Jacobs $68. Silver and white tulip skirt – Zara $50, Grey wool top – old, similar farfetch.com $214. Tangerine peep toes – Zara Old, similar

Studded Love

I am not a massive punk fan dying to cover myself in huge, pointy, vicious studs like half the fashion world. Have you seen the blood (yes, blood!) pouring off celebrity ankles from wearing those insane spike-studded platform heels? I mean, we all suffer for fashion but I draw the line at self-harm. Hence, my sweet, rounded ‘PG’-rated studded ballet pumps. NoteNo ankles were harmed during the shooting of this post.

White studded ballet pumps – TopShop $40, Starry top – Zara, Flared Jeans – Zara, Heart earrings – Accessorize. Green Bracelet – Aldo. Black/white & pink bracelet – Kate Spade. Turquoise ring – old. Bag – TopShop.

Soft Frock

My husband calls this ‘the hairy dress’ which makes me laugh. It is almost 3D because the material is made up of little mottled ‘tuft’s that stick out from the base fabric. I have even experienced the odd occasion of someone wanting to ‘pet’ my dress because it feels really soft to the touch. I love how it fits because it hugs your curves without clinging to any undesirable lumps and bumps.

Dress – Zara Collection old, similar Maison Martin Margiela $59. Two-tone heels – Zara similar $40. Clutch – Ava Clutch Accessorize $40. Make-up Bobby Brown.
