Hooded Cape

Finding a perfect over-coat for Autumn that looks good dressed up for work or casual for weekends is certainly a challenge.

This little gem fit my criteria perfectly. Great length, warm, fitted, simple lines and easy to throw on over anything. I wore it withskinny jeans and flats on the weekend (and two women stopped me to ask where I bought it!!) and here for work with heels and a frock

The hood is cute but I wouldn’t wear it up because it would mess with the hair, BUT, it creates a really pretty silhouette

I love the simple high waist tie but the structure of the coat is good enough to wear open without it looking like a sack

Fit & Flare

For me, the perfect winter coat is double-breasted, belted, knee-length, fitted and flared

I think Armani Exchange read my thoughts and released this in their Fall collection

They call it the ‘fit and flare’ wool coat. Perfectly fitted at the top, and like a dress at the bottom

Boots – M&S. Cashmere Top – Zara. Tights – H&M.

Woolly Tights

One of my favourite things about cold weather (other than hot baths and steaming pasta) is getting to wear thick tights

I love these grey knit ones. Super soft and thick enough to keep the chill out. H&M

Add a simple long jacket, ideally the same length as your skirt (local Shanghai designer) and knee high boots (M&S)

Dotty in Shanghai

We all know my mad fetish for polka dots. I cannot contain myself when there are dots around.

I added a pop of pale yellow with my shoes and pashmina

Although this belt came with the dress, I often mix it up by using a bright pink or red belt. Primary colours rock with black and white dots

Friday Classic

Every girl needs a classic grey, fitted, knee-length dress. It’s like the LBD staple of the work wardrobe

I like to add a pashmina of sorts – to break up the grey-ness. A cardigan looks fab too.

Dress – (old) Pashmina – local boutique. Heels – Nine West Caress. Necklace – Shanghai Tang – check their gorgeous range here

Cropped

Trusted old hounds tooth cropped skinnies (Zara)

Happy Thursday all

Leather & Knitwear

My favourite time of the year without a doubt. Cool, fresh, crisp air and the ability to combine leather, boots and knitwear.

This Zara top looks super cute un-tucked as well, but I had to show the funky leather waist band and pocket detail! (it also comes in a gorgeous dusty pink and a natural cream) Skirt – Zara  (both items from new Fall collection)

And here I am, suited and booted ready to roll on my e-bike. My runway on wheels 😉
