Rainy Summer

It has been raining non-stop for four days and nights in Shanghai, and it’s supposed to be summer!!! arrgg Keeping hair smooth is becoming a total nightmare!

Keeping it simple – denim shirt, stripy mini & booties

Oh and I need a tan! I feel a trip to Thailand coming on 🙂

Spring is knocking…

OK I admit to being slightly obsessed with winter sunshine and wearing some semi-spring outfits with colour I ran out for lunch with my husband and it felt so good to stroll in the warm rays

Leather mini – Zara. Boots – M&S. Scarf – Thailand. Denim Jacket – Levis. Bag – Charles & Keith

White Pencil Skirt

I saw Naomi Watts in a white pencil skirt and was thinking ‘how gorgeous’ when I suddenly remembered I have one exactly the same! Do you ever forget items like this? It was a delightful surprise.

I bought this skirt at Zara in Cape Town, SA. But thanks  to lighting-fast-fashion, it is no longer listed on their website. Found this stunning one here from Charlotte Russe on sale for $15 which is similar

Grey top – Gap. Trucker Jacket – Levis.

I am trying to smile more in my posts, because I hate looking like I am so serious, but at the same time I don’t like fake smiles. So unless something makes me laugh or I am super happy by default, please understand the  toothless-ness. I need to take inspiration from blogger Skinny Hipster who always has a HUGE natural smile.

I found this awesome rose gold ring (it’s costume) in a little boutique shop. I love how it looks with loads of outfits.

Rock Chick

I don’t really like rock concerts, but I do like dressing a tad ‘rock’ once in a while. Am also thinking this outfit would be amaze with a pair of black suede ankle boots….am building up to that purchase because I need to justify buying something ill-designed for hot weather. But then again, fashion isn’t about being comfortable is it?

I love animal print. Leopard, zebra, tiger….you name it, but in small doses. I don’t buy into ‘animal-over-load’ as I call it (leopard top+belt+shoes = offensive leopard explosion)

Zebra Silk Top – QueensPark (similar), Black mini – Mango. Denim jacket – Levis (similar). Patent heels – (similar) Hoops – Accessorize. Belt – local market (similar)

Denim and Print

One of my favourite wardrobe tricks is to add a well-worn denim jacket over a posh or formal dress. It tones the look down and at the same time, funks it up.

Denim jacket – Levis Classic Trucker (old, similar). Dress – Expressions (similar in polka dots). Dusty pink pumps – Nine West Caress. Clutch – local market (similar) Diamond tennis bracelet – generous husband (nothing similar!) Nails – Revlon Shade – Cherries in the Snow

Red Dress

While I was trying to think of a more catchy title to this blog, I realized nothing is better than these two words: Red Dress. Each of us will immediately conjure up some fantastic sexy red frock. From a lipstick red knee length cocktail knock-out to a deep burgundy ball gown that makes you look like you are floating, we all have red dress fantasies.
