Green Christmas

Merry Christmas from sunny Cape Town all!!! Green was my theme this year.

My gorgeous friend – White skinny cropped jeans – M&S. Green T – H&M. Tan ballet pumps – local Thai designer. Hoops – Accessorize. Watch – Emporio Armani.

Me – Jeans – GStar skinny. Top – Trenery. Flats – Aldo

Black & Denim Basics

There is nothing quite like a classic black tank, pair of jeans and hoop earrings. These pics were taken on separate days (you can tell from my different colour nail varnish!!) one with a very old pair of Mankind stone-wash jeans (8 years’ old!!) and one with dark flared.

Stonewash –  Mankind (old! similar). Dark flared denim – Zara . Black tank – H&M. Hoops – old (similar) Animal print clutch – similar. Black bag with gold studs – Jaspal (old collection)

I actually bought this H&M Tank in two different sizes because certain outfits look better with a very tight look (a high-waist skirt) and a looser fit for tucking into denim hot pants / jeans (to avoid a muffin top!)

Bright Stripe

H&M opened a two-story flagship store in Bangkok, Thailand earlier this year. I have not been able to check it out because of the hundreds of committed shopaholics willing to stand in hour-long queues, until now! I bought a few pretty ‘staple’ tops and this stripey number which looks cute with jeans, skirts, over a bikini or even layered with a tank top and jacket + heels. Versatility is the new black!

Striped Top – H&M. Black tasselled mini – Zara (old). Suede boots – Mango Touch (similar). Hoops – Accessorize

I am laughing in the last pic as my husband told me my skirt is so short it should be for ‘standing only’ outings haha

Black Monday

I felt like a bit of power-dressing today, and I love the texture of this light woolen mini skirt.

Curly Fabric Skirt – Mango. Vest – H&M. Heels – Nine West (old). Ridiculously big hoop earrings – Dorothy Perkins. Crystal ball necklace – Topshop. Lilac nails – Revlon.

Dots ‘n Denim

It’s one of those mornings where I just need to feel comfortable. But not too casual. Enter dots, denim and bling flats. I want to be on holiday under a shaded terrace, sipping sparking Perrier as the bored, slightly handsome, waiter leans against a red doorway, staring dreamily into space. Instead i’m in an air-conditioned office, but the point is, inspiration comes from anywhere, and fashion can transport you.

Polka Dot linen top – Zara. Jeans – Zara 1975. Diamante flats – Aldo. Tan belt – Gap

Bolero Bomber

I love this little jacket. It lifts a casual look instantly and feels really chic. The way clothing makes you feel is key, don’t you think? So far I have worn it with black trousers, jeans and a black pencil skirt – so it’s really versatile.

Black Bolero Jacket – Mango, similar in pink. Acid Orange top – Gap. Black wide-leg trousers – Thai Tailor ‘Cotton House’ (am too tall for most store-bought trousers) Necklace & Ring – Dorothy Perkins. Hoop earrings – Accessorize. Patent clutch – Accessorize. Heels – Nine West

Red Leather

There is nothing more classic in winter than a sleek, fitted, collarless leather jacket. Simple lines, plain zips, slight patent sheen. Delish. Although this jacket is years old, it remains a staple in my wardrobe. Looks good with tight jeans, black or white trousers and even pencil skirts with black tights and knee-high boots.

Red Leather Jacket – Marion & Lindie, Old. Similar Leather Moto from Express $118, Bagatelle Leather Scuba $398

Sunglasses – Armani. Jeans – Zara 1979. Hoop earrings – Accessorize
