Sheer Delight

Sometimes you find an item of clothing so feminine it feels like the theme tune from Sex and The City is the world’s soundtrack, tinkling from behind as you strut girlishly down the lane.

This top is pink, sheer, frilly, puffy AND has a bow. Can you cope? That is why I am wearing it with skinny jeans and not a white skirt as initially planned.

I think the jeans make it more edgy, reducing any potentially syrupy reaction.

Top – TopShop. Jean – GStar. Heels – Nine West. Ring – local market, Nails – ‘Mod About You’ OPI

Ballet Flats

I am always on the scout for cute ballet flats. These classic black ones were a gift and SO well-received because, for some reason, brands always add ‘stuff’ like bows, studs & buckles. And I couldn’t resist these amazing polka dot ones.

Black Pumps – Woolworths (similar), Jeans – GStar. Grey Top – Gap. Bag – TopShop. Polka Pumps – Trenery similar.

Black Monday

I felt like a bit of power-dressing today, and I love the texture of this light woolen mini skirt.

Curly Fabric Skirt – Mango. Vest – H&M. Heels – Nine West (old). Ridiculously big hoop earrings – Dorothy Perkins. Crystal ball necklace – Topshop. Lilac nails – Revlon.

Friday Classics

My two favourite Friday looks – ready to go for drinks after work! Apologies for own-photo-taking but my husband/photographer is out of town on business, so we have to settle for an Iphone-mirror-body-shot.

Shirt – gap. Jeans – Chip ‘n Pepper. Bag – TopShop (old). Gold ring – local market. Heart bracelet – Marc Jacobs (similar in black.  Two-Tone jersey – Gap. Black mini skirt – Zara (similar). Suede boots- Mango Touch. Ring – Marc Jacobs. Polka dot IPhone case – Jaspal gift (not really free, I got it because I spent so much in Jaspal!)

Metallic

This took a bit of confidence, I must admit. But I keep seeing metallic everywhere and it’s growing on me.

Happy Friday all! And by the way, thanks for visiting, I am about to hit 20,000 views! HORAY

Skirt – TopShop. Pink top – Zara. Suede boots – Mango new collection but not listed on their website (similar).

Casual Dots

By now you are aware of my slightly obsessive love for polka dots. This little number is super light-weight, perfect for summer, outdoor markets, over a bikini to the beach, picnics….I love it’s versatility and pockets.

Polka Dot Frock – Gap. White studded pumps – TopShop. Turquoise clutch – Accessorize (old, similar) Raybans

I always chuckle at my pics when I see myself in flats, standing on tippy-toes. That’s the sign of a heel-loving girl!

The Black Pencil Skirt

A well-fitted black pencil skirt is probably the most versatile item in a working girls wardrobe. A good waist band is essential, no digging-in allowed. I added a simple grey jacket, which made the look more formal, and some patent heels which are very ‘Kate Middleton’ and surprisingly comfortable.

Straight cut cotton pencil skirt – Mango. Striped top – Zara. Grey jacket – G2000. Patent pumps – Nine West. Tangerine Tote – TopShop. Pink bracelet – Kate Spade. Gold hoops – similar
