Colour Clash

I suddenly realised that I haven’t mixed it up in a while. My version of mixing it up is not exactly punk rock, but I combine colours and fabrics that I wouldn’t ordinarily. This involved lots of trial and error. Lots of ghastly mirror reflections. But eventually you get something so mis-matched that is works.

Nearly-Friday-Flares

I have had these Mankind Flares for nearly 7 years. Even though my body shape has changed and these trusty strides are more faded and tattered, I love them even more. Like a good friend that never lets you down.

And here I am, working on my smile ūüôā

Black Vest – H&M. Jacket – Zara. Jeans – 7ForAllMankind. Polka dot flats – Trenery. If you are tall, you can pull off this slightly looser high-waist fit, but if you are a shorty-pants, I recommend a tighter waist and thigh area to make sure you don’t look like you are walking in a denim sack.

Casual Thursday

I decided to do a double-casual post because being comfortable and looking chic is not easy! When wearing jeans to work, I strongly believe in adding heels or posh flats, a cute bag, funky ring/earrings. Otherwise one can look like a slob.

I also believe in spending a bit more time on your hair and make-up to ‘make up’ for being so casual. Jeans – Zara 1969 Flare (old). Grey top – Gap (old). Polka dot flats – Trenery. Bag – Charles & Keith.

My second casual look for the week. And this really is me walking – my husband uses a fast shutter-speed to capture each movement in the hopes one of 20 shots will be use-able! But I love the ‘moving’ shots as it feels less posed.

Adorable polka dot top – Jaspal. Jeans – GStarRaw. Heels – Nine West Caress

Coco

I just finished reading Coco Chanel’s biography and am totally obsessed with her simple and chic style (and life story, did you know she was friends with Salvador Dali and¬†Winston¬†Churchill!?amaze balls) She was my Fashspiration for this shoot.

Wide-leg, low-rise white trousers – custom tailor (similar). Pink heels – Nine West Caress. Striped Vest – Trenery. Pearls & clutch – Accessorise – real deal here

I extended the look for a casual lunch with my husband but swapping the trousers for shorts and a green satchel bag. (Bag – Jaspal. Shorts – Zara similar) Nails OPI

Ballet Flats

I am always on the scout for cute ballet flats. These classic black ones were a gift and SO well-received¬†because, for some reason, brands always add ‘stuff’ like bows, studs & buckles. And I couldn’t resist these amazing polka dot ones.

Black Pumps РWoolworths (similar), Jeans РGStar. Grey Top РGap. Bag РTopShop. Polka Pumps РTrenery similar.

Holiday Shorts

Simple and cute – holiday shorts with stripes, oh, and a cowboy hat which is the best sun protection because it looks good and protects your face and neck. But they squash in luggage – I haven’t solved that one yet.

Pink shorts – Mango (similar). Striped T – Esprit. Denim shorts – Mango. Striped T – Trenery. Flats – Aldo. Cowboy hat – Roxy (similar), Earrings – fluffy green Christmas glitter slugs – from my mum. Gin and tonic – models own ūüėČ

Green Christmas

Merry Christmas from sunny Cape Town all!!! Green was my theme this year.

My gorgeous friend – White skinny cropped jeans – M&S. Green T – H&M. Tan ballet pumps – local Thai designer. Hoops – Accessorize. Watch – Emporio Armani.

Me – Jeans –¬†GStar skinny. Top – Trenery. Flats – Aldo
